Sales and Customer Service Specialist

Job Summary:

This role exists to assist and support the sales team across all business-related matters. This role supports the Middle East, Europe, and North America region. The key result indicators for this role are the completion of tasks by the deadline with high quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Key Account Management
  • To increase company sales by generating specific activities for retail and food service clients through leveraging global brand positioning and category penetration.
  • Responsible for managing a group of key accounts from end to end. Develop, maintain, and strengthen excellent business relationships with clients, provide professional after-sales service, as well as to expand the client network to explore new business opportunities.
  • Explore partnerships with different channels to achieve and exceed revenue and company growth objectives in designated areas.
  • Plan and execute trade promotion and sales activities to achieve sales targets.
  • Demand creation and forecast planning with daily communication with Distributors to manage demand forecast and shipment schedule.
  • Ensure efficient and profitable management of the product development process including distributor liaison, price negotiation, innovating packaging, cost management, marketing, and logistics.
  • Work on qualitative and quantitative research to assess the market landscape of plant-based category development and develop consumer insights for the innovation team.
  • Aware of significant market trends and perform complex analyses of possible business opportunities.
  • Proactively communicate all significant updates to order fulfillment to Sales and customers.
  • Manage and ensure completion of customer requests for information relating to quotes and orders. Ensure customer concerns or issues are thoroughly addressed and resolved in a timely manner. This could include but is not limited to order status, pricing information, product data sheets, and samples.
  • Locate, access, and provide to customers any necessary regulatory or lab documents, shipping documents, quotes, or other pertinent information.
  • Monitor customer order patterns and notify sales of any unusual activity or lack of orders for unknown reasons.
  • Follow up on all customer-supplied materials, including labels, to ensure inventory is available when needed for production.
  • Submit, track and facilitate with appropriate departments all customer sample requests and testing requests.
  • Assist Sales department with projects including but not limited to providing customer reports, sales reports, customer communications, and mailings.
  • Work with Finance to monitor payment and credit status of customers to ensure appropriate and timely release of products for shipment.
  • Coordinate shipping arrangements with customers and communicate information with the warehouse to ensure orders are shipped on time.
  • Enter and manage Technical Service Requests (TSRs) for the Sales department when requested.
  • Ensure Non-Disclosure Agreements and Trademark License Agreements are completed and on file for customers as needed.
  • Continually learn about company products including ingredients, product functionality, and branded blends as well as basic sales and customer relations skills.
  • Maintain accurate data for customers and prospects in CRM (Salesforce).
  • Follow all environmental and safety regulations related to the business sector and act in compliance with all Food laws including but not limited to USDA, European Food & Agricultural Import Regulations (FAIRS), FDA, cGMP, Kosher, Halal, NSF.

Experience:

  • Degree in Marketing, business or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant sales and product marketing management expertise in the FMCG industry, in particular F&B, sales & marketing role
  • Preferred experience in business development in food service or retail channels.
  • Excel in distributor management & key account management
  • Self-motivated and good team player with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
